In February of 2018, Marie and Aaron were married with a ceremony at Saint Patrick Shrine Church and a wedding reception at the Gettysburg Hotel. I had a fantastic time taking wedding photos for Marie and Aaron’s elegant winter wedding in Gettysburg, PA. This couple was out of this world and impressed me to no end. They were amazing in front of the camera!
Marie + Aaron’s Gettysburg Hotel Wedding
The Gettysburg Hotel lies in the heart of historic downtown Gettysburg, just a 15-minute walk from Gettysburg Battlefield. It has an incredibly rich history, part of the reason why Aaron and Marie chose the hotel as their venue. As a Pennsylvania wedding photographer, I always appreciate when I have the opportunity to capture this history.
Marie and Aaron got ready at Marie’s parents’ house. I love how the photos almost take on a rustic feel when matched with the color of the hardwood floors. Marie looked amazing in her wedding dress and Aaron looked so formal in his Marine Blues.
These two wanted their wedding to be very elegant and traditional. They knew their wedding would be divided into “two personalities.” It was very sacred to them as a couple to include a full mass for the ceremony—a little more on the quiet and respectful side. But they also knew that once the ceremony was concluded, it would be time to let loose and have a great time at the reception.
The ceremony at the Saint Patrick Shrine Church was beautiful, as was to be expected. The family and guests held a prayer before the mass got started. And emotions were running high in the entire room as the bride and groom said their I Do’s.
Marie and Aaron are an incredibly fun-loving couple. Throughout the entire day of the wedding, they both were nothing but smiles and good cheer. The wedding party was kept happy too, especially with the matching robes for the bridesmaids. I thought the color combinations were out of sight!
To Aaron and Marie, thank you so much for allowing me to be a part of your big day! The pictures came out beautifully, and I couldn’t have made that happen without the two of you. It was such a pleasure to be your Gettysburg Hotel wedding photographer. I wish you all of the best in your lives ahead and can’t wait to see what comes next!
