Is there anything more romantic than a winter wedding? A chill to the air makes you want to snuggle in close to those you love. That was absolutely the case at Kassidy and Kyle’s January wedding. With their ceremony at Stoltzfus Homestead and a wedding reception at Scenic Village, their love warmed everyone’s hearts. It was a pleasure to be their wedding photographer.
Winter Wedding Photography at Scenic Village
The winter weather was crisp but clear on the day of Kassidy and Kyle’s January winter wedding. I started out with Kassidy as she got ready for the day. I met up with her at Scenic Village at Harvest Drive, a wedding and event venue nestled in the heart of Lancaster County. I loved how Kassidy chose a color theme of winter white, royal blue, and silver. It really emphasized the romance of winter. Kassidy looked lovely as she got into her gown and she was such a trooper when we took wedding portraits outside. But the amazing views of Amish farmland made braving the cold worth it! It’s no wonder this wedding venue is called Scenic Village!
It was a beautiful winter day and everyone in the bridal party was great about being out in the cold. The outdoor photographs really turned out beautiful. We headed to Stoltzfus Homestead & Gardens for the reception. The indoor barn reception was lovely, and the love between Kyle and Kassidy could be seen by all. Her smile truly lit up the room.
Even as the wedding photographer, it was clear to me just how much love is in the lives of Kassidy and Kyle. It was wonderful to see how many people were there to help make sure that this wedding was successful. Mothers really are amazing, but Dawn really went above and beyond to make sure the wedding went off without any surprises. Of course, since these two were high school sweethearts, there are years of love and memories that they have already built and shared with friends and loved ones. Love like this, long-lasting, established love is such a joy to capture. Love that has stood the test of time even before a wedding is so special.
One of the great things about winter weddings is how early the sun sets, so we could take full advantage of the darkness for some low-light images. Stoltzfus Homestead has some beautiful spots for portraits, so I stole Kassidy and Kyle away for some quiet portraits as night fell. The twinkling lights above them almost look like stars in the sky!
After the ceremony, everyone headed back for the reception at Scenic Village where the ballroom made for the perfect backdrop for them to celebrate their union as husband and wife. I was so happy to be a part of this winter celebration of love, joy, and lasting commitment. Kassidy and Kyle, thank you for asking me to be your wedding photographer. I wish you both the best of luck together as husband and wife!
