Meghan and Tyler | A Lancaster Engagement Session

You would never guess from how gorgeous Meghan and Tyler’s engagement photos are, that it was raining during the session! Thankfully, we were able to get some really great shots anyway. Meghan and Tyler were so awesome and totally laid back about it. While most girls would be fretting over their hair and makeup, Meghan just went with it. It was refreshing to be around a young couple so obviously in love.  They’re so compatible and seem to be made for each other.

Online dating wasn’t really either of Meghan or Tyler’s first choice, but both being new to the area, they decided to try it out.  With a little apprehension, they went on their first date to one of Meghan’s favorite Mexican restaurants. After just a few minutes together, they hit it off. Over chips and salsa (for hours!) they talked about their lives, their hopes, and dreams, and they both left knowing this was the beginning of something good.  By their fourth date, they knew they wanted to be together forever. Eleven months after that first date, they were engaged.

They love being outdoors together. One day early last summer, while hiking with their dogs, Hazel and Ziggy, they ended up at Kilgore Falls, Maryland’s second highest vertical drop waterfall. It’s a beautiful place to hike, swim and picnic. In front of the the falls, Tyler got down one knee and asked Meghan the most important question he’d ever ask…which Meghan answered with the most important (and happiest) “Yes!” she’d ever say.

When I asked Meghan and Tyler what they love most about each other, their answers were so sweet.  “Tyler is a genuinely kind person with a gentle spirit. There isn’t a day that he lets pass by without not only telling me, but showing me how much he loves me.  He’s so adventurous and is always willing to try new things with me, explore new places and create fun memories.”

Tyler said “I love that she loves the outdoors as much as I do. I know that I have a hiking partner for life and that she’ll always share the same desire to travel and see as much of the world as I do, and that we’ll get to do that together.”  So.  Very.  Sweet.

Choosing Stoltzfus Homestead and Gardens for their wedding venue was a fantastic choice. It’s one of my favorite locations and such a beautiful place for September weddings.  Planning the wedding together has been fun for the couple, and they are counting down the days until they say “I do!”  The only thing they can’t decide on is whether they’ll have a “first look” with each other or not.  Stay tuned, and find out their decision when we feature their wedding on the blog later this fall!
