A photographer’s dream is to find himself with the right equipment, at just the right time, in just the right place. Add to that an incredibly sweet couple in love, and and dreamy golden hour sunlight, and that’s what we had on the day of Anne and Brandon’s engagement shoot. What started out as a rainy day, became a gorgeous photo session. Their images are absolutely beautiful and the session was relaxed and enjoyable.
Anne first saw Brandon when she was 8 years old. His mother was one of the owners of the dance studio where she was a student. Brandon was 11 and in Anne’s young eyes, he was dreamy. Years later, Anne got up the nerve to “accidentally” send him a Facebook message. They began talking on-line (owner’s sons were not suppose to date the dance students), and a friendship began to grow. At first, they decided to just be friends but after realizing they couldn’t even go a day without talking to each other, they began to fall fast. Anne says they fell “head over boots” in love very quickly.
On the last day of her annual dance recital, Anne was asked by the studio owner (aka Brandon’s mother) to come back on stage after the show was over. His mom had helped him plan the evening. (I guess they lessened the rules about dating students 😉 ) Brandon met Anne on the stage, and behind him on the screen were the words, “Will you marry me?” Anne has very little recollection of the details but does remember Brandon saying, “You’re my best friend. I love you, and will you marry me?” And of course, she said yes.
Anne has been dreaming about her wedding day since she was a little girl. She says she never realized how much went into planning it! Even though it’s a lot of work to get everything done, it’s coming together. Brandon is a huge support to her and they both agree that the most important thing is “there must be MAC and CHEESE at the reception!”
Anne and Brandon are such a fun couple. When you’re with them, you can tell that they really love being together and that their marriage will be filled with many lively adventures. I look forward to capturing their special day this September!
