Alyssa + Nick | A Stoltzfus Homestead and Gardens Wedding

The day of Alyssa and Nick’s wedding was perfect. Not only was the weather gorgeous, but the whole day went by seamlessly …or as Alyssa says, “magically”. I don’t think I’ve ever been part of a wedding that had as much family involvement and sentimental elements as this one. There were so many personal touches woven throughout the day, that you could sense this family’s closeness and complete support of Alyssa and Nick’s marriage.

They are high school sweethearts. After meeting at a track meet, they never stopped talking. Fast forward 9 years, two dogs and a house later… and Nick proposed in a way that is both sweet and unique. They’re both from the same town where The Crayola Factory is. After a visit home for Thanksgiving, Nick had a crayon made at the factory that said “Marry Me”. (See photos below).  He also used that trip to ask Alyssa’s dad for his blessing to marry his daughter.  Later, in a private moment with just Alyssa and their sweet pups, Mocha and Hudson, Nick gave her the crayon and asked her to be his wife! And of course, she said yes!

Nick loves Alyssa’s smile. She has such a sweet heart, and her care and empathy towards others just add to the all the wonderful attributes that he loves about her. She also is his biggest fan, always pushing him each day to be the best he can be. Nick’s loyalty and dedication are two of the things Alyssa loves about him. He centers her in a way that no one else can. He also has a great sense of humor and is willing to do whatever it takes to help their family thrive. With Nick as her other half, Alyssa’s life is complete.

Nick and Alyssa knew from the start that Stoltzfus Homestead and Gardens was the perfect venue for them.  They wanted a place that provided a laid back feel, but still had the beauty and class of a nicer venue. They kept their wedding like themselves, simple and fun. The open comfortable atmosphere of the barns and gardens made everything flow so easily and their guests had an amazing time.

When Alyssa arrived at Stoltzfus on the day of her wedding, it was more than she could have ever imagined. She describes it as magical. Everything was beautiful, and she was able to enjoy every moment of the day. Her favorite moment: the “ first look” with Nick. When he saw his beautiful bride, his face shone with happiness and admiration. The ceremony was really special and included their sweet greyhounds. While Alyssa walked down the aisle with her father and her dog, Hudson, it was like a dream. Nick stood waiting to promise her forever, with their other dog, Mocha. After a sentimental ceremony, we were able to get some photographs with just the two of them. This gave Nick and Alyssa a few moments alone, to focus on each other and savor the moment of having just said “I do”.  The reception was amazing…all they ever dreamed of. They loved dancing and enjoyed celebrating with their family and friends the whole evening.

The sentimental aspects of their wedding were incredible. Alyssa wore her late grandmother’s wedding dress which has been worn by 5 women in their family! She also wore her grandmother’s bracelet and ring. Lavender and yellow were the colors Alyssa picked, just as her mother had picked for her own wedding. So many other families members were involved in the wedding process from making the cake, to creating lovely centerpieces, to officiating the ceremony.  Both Alyssa’s mother and Nick’s mother, contributed their own bridal headpieces for decor at the reception. Everywhere you looked, you could see small facets of their family taking part in making the day just perfect.

I believe I captured the beauty of their day in a way that will give them happy reflections for the rest of their lives. It was a pleasure to meet Alyssa and Nick and I wish them all the best! Congratulations, Mr and Mrs Potkovac!
