Justin and Kassandra’s Stone Mill Inn wedding was special in so many ways. You’ll love the photos of the sunlight peeking through the trees in the late afternoon, the beauty of the historic mansion that so perfectly fit their style, and the entertainment the bride and groom provided their guests with their “Blues Brothers” wedding dance. But what we loved most about this wedding, was the couple themselves! I knew from the first time I met them at their engagement session that Justin and Kassandra were some of the sweetest people I’d met. That was even more evident at their wedding, when we all saw their genuine love for each other and their guests. Family, faith and friends are the most important things to them, and their day was filled with all three of these.
Kassandra’s description of Justin is so endearing… “I love how he has such strong and unyielding family morals. He knows exactly how to make me smile or comfort me. He’s so attentive to my needs and generously showers me with loving and positive compliments. I love how closely he stays in touch with his dear friends. I love his smile, boisterous laugh, uplifting spirit, and amazing hugs. I feel incredibly blessed to have him as my husband, cannot wait to see him as a father, and know we will live a long, fruitful, and merry life together.” Isn’t that the best?
Justin’s description of Kassandra is also really sweet and just what any bride would want her groom to say about her… “Some of my favorite qualities about Kassandra, besides her beautiful smile, is how endearing and earnest she is. She always keeps my spirits up. She has a very bubbly personality and is always a joy to be around. She loves family and knows the value of spending time with each other and I am very excited to live an incredibly happy and joyous life with her.”
Their wedding day was absolutely gorgeous. Justin and Kassandra say it was enchanting and full of explosive love! It began with the wedding party and their parents getting ready at the venue. Stone Mill Inn has incredible facilities and the bridal dressing room is perfect for ‘getting ready’ shots of the bride and her bridesmaids. Kassandra was stunning in her white “Le Bella Donna” gown, and her bridesmaids were the perfect companions in sky blue dresses. As you can see from the photographs, when Kassandra’s father saw her for the first time looking stunning and beautiful for her groom, his smile lit up his whole face.
Justin and Kassandra chose to do a “first look” before the wedding. Like most people, I always love the look on the groom’s face when he first lays eyes on his bride. Justin did not disappoint. On the front lawn of the inn, he was completely captivated by Kassandra’s beauty. It’s such a sentimental and magical moment. For the couple, it seems that there is no one else around. And in that moment, they realize that this is not a dream, and all the planning has been worth the effort. It was beautiful.
They chose one of the outdoor areas for their wedding ceremony. “The Woodlands” features an amazing archway, plenty of seating and the perfect beauty of nature. With Justin’s brother as the officiant, the most adorable flower girl and ring bearer, and all of their closest friends and family, Justin and Kassandra promised to love one another forever. “The Woodlands” was also the scene of some of my favorite nighttime shots. With handmade wooden chandeliers hanging from the trees, it becomes an enchanted forest with perfect romantic lighting to show off the bride and groom, and give them a moment to bask in the reality of their new life together.
After the ceremony, the celebrating continued with their top notch reception. A delicious dinner and a crowd not afraid to dance made their party so much fun. For me, the highlight of the reception was when Justin and Kassandra entered the room dancing to a “Blues Brother” musical number, complete with props and amazing dance moves. It was the best! When I asked them what their favorite part of their wedding day was, I was surprised that it wasn’t the “first look”, or the moment they said “I do”. Those were amazing parts of the day, but their best memory is of the two of them just sitting together at the sweetheart table as man and wife, listening to the special toasts from three of their closest friends and a sister they both truly admire. They were witty, charming, heartfelt, and personable speeches that reminded them of the significance of the day and the future they have to look forward to together.
Because of the beauty of the day, and the abundance of nature around the Inn, I was able to capture some stunning images of their wedding. It was such a pleasure to be part of your day, Justin and Kassandra! I wish you both the very best and hope you and your family enjoy some of my favorite photos of your wedding!
