Dan & Lauren | A Longwood Gardens Engagement

Longwood Gardens | Kennett Square, Pennsylvania

Since Lauren and Dan got engaged at the beautiful Longwood Gardens at Kennett Square, we had to return there for their engagement shoot! The gardens and architecture make it one of the most stunning places to take photographs. With a gorgeous backdrop in every direction, it truly is a photographer’s dream.

It was a beautiful day and Dan, Lauren and I had a great time getting to know each other as we walked around taking photos.  They really love Longwood Gardens, and go there several times a year to enjoy the amazing wonders of nature. It’s no wonder that Dan picked their favorite place to pop the question!

Dan and Lauren knew right away they had a lot in common. As many people do these days, they met on a dating website, and immediately realized they both are young at heart with their love for animals, food and Disney. Now they consider each other “Life Adventure Partners” and know just how to get each other to smile. They love spending time together and think they could happily hang out 24/7…which is what quarantine has basically given them.

Dan knew he had to ask Lauren to be his wife at their favorite place. He enlisted the help of his best friend and his wife, to come under the guise of a double date so they could document their special moment. They had just finished taking a photo in the conservatory and were surrounded by a crowd of people patiently waiting for their turn, when he dropped to one knee and asked Lauren to promise him forever.  Her facial expression was priceless! She lit up the room and after a quick “Are you serious?” she said yes!  Having forgotten all the people waiting, they were brought back into reality when they heard all the clapping around them. It was a moment they will never forget.

Wedding planning began shortly after Lauren said yes. They picked Stoltzfus Homestead and Gardens as their venue, as it perfectly matches their style. The barns, the patio, the rustic nature, the flowers and the owners all combine together to make it the best place they could imagine getting married. It is truly their dream venue.

Dan says he can’t wait to see Lauren walk down the aisle.  He anticipates that his emotions will be high, so I’ll be ready to capture that moment as well as possible. They both are so eager to make their commitment official, be with all of their closest friends and family, and dance the night away.  I too, can’t wait for their wedding day! Congratulations on your engagement, Dan and Lauren!
