From the start, I knew they were an extra special couple! Sarah is so sweet and really happy to be engaged to Ben. Ben’s a great guy, and when I found out he works for Pro Football Focus, I felt an instant connection. I love football (Go Steelers!) and he knows everything about all the players in the NFL. We had such a good time at their engagement shoot, walking around the park, getting to know each other and taking some amazing photos.
Sarah and Ben were high school sweethearts. They both were goalies on lacrosse teams and Sarah had a little bit of a crush on Ben. They officially met at a friend’s beach house in Cape May, New Jersey over summer break…after Sarah’s sophomore year! They really connected that summer and before school started back that fall, they were a couple. She fell for him quickly, loving how laid back and funny he was. She still thinks he’s the sweetest guy ever! Ben was first attracted to how easy Sarah was to talk to. He didn’t want to stop talking to her after that first meeting…so he didn’t.
Fast forward about 5 years later, and Ben had completed his degree at the University of Pittsburgh and moved to Cincinnati for work. Sarah was still in Pittsburgh finishing her nursing degree at Carlow University when Ben came to visit. On a picnic to Schenley Park, they walked up a hill overlooking beautiful views of Pittsburgh. Ben picked that moment to get down on one knee and ask Sarah to spend the rest of her life with him. Of course, she said yes!!
When I asked what their favorite things about each other are, their answers were so sweet. Sarah said that without a doubt, Ben is her very best friend and number one supporter. His thoughtfulness and constant encouragement have been a source of strength for her through life changes and important milestones. They’ve grown so much together over the past 6 years, and she feels so lucky to have him as a partner in life.
Ben says that Sarah is one of the most caring people he’s ever met. Her compassion goes beyond being a nurse, and she’s just as kind off the job as on. She knows when and how to bring humor when it’s needed to lighten the mood, and is truly his best friend. He couldn’t be more excited to begin his life with her as his wife.
They chose Stoltzfus Homestead and Garden as their wedding venue. They both grew up in eastern Pennsylvania and knew they wanted to get married close to home. It’s the perfect location for all of their family and friends. They immediately fell in love with the beautiful Tobacco Barn and the openness of the Grand Barn. The fun outdoor areas and beautiful gardens make it the perfect place to celebrate their marriage next summer.
Congratulations on your engagement, Sarah and Ben! See you in June!
