Sarah + Jake | Engaged

A Lancaster County Engagement Session

I grew up in Pittsburgh, so it was inevitable that I would be a Steeler’s fan. Some of my favorite memories are going to the football games with my dad. You can imagine my excitement when I found out Sarah and Jake were big fans of my favorite NFL football team! Our engagement session was great! We had a good time walking around Overlook Park, getting to know each other, and of course, talking about the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Jake and Sarah are high school sweethearts. When she first met him, she thought he was a total goofball! Jake was wearing a “funny but adorable” Steelers outfit and was so silly and kind that Sarah knew she really wanted to be friends with him.  With such a great personally and good looks, he totally stood out to her. Jake thought Sarah was way out of his league. She was so pretty and had a sense of humor that matched his. By the time they were seniors in high school, they were dating seriously.

Keeping with their love for good football, they had their first date after a game at Friendly’s. They had such a good time, it became their regular date on Fridays after the game.

It was almost 4 years later, when they were with family at Colton Point, the west rim of the Pennsylvania Grand Canyon. With a gorgeous view of the canyon behind them, they decided to take a picture together. Before Sarah knew was happening, Jake got down on one knew and proposed. Sarah was so shocked, excited and happy…and of course, she said yes!

Sarah loves what a hard worker Jake is. He doesn’t give up on projects until it’s completely finished. His sense of humor and silliness help Sarah to lighten up. She’s usually more serious, so Jake reminds her to take the time to laugh and have fun. Jake loves how kind and selfless Sarah is. Her compassionate heart and contagious smile add to her beauty. They are both so excited to get married.

Sarah and Jake chose Stoltzfus Homestead and Gardens as their wedding venue. It is exactly what they had dreamed of for their special day.  With a rustic, yet modern charm, the barns are perfect for their ceremony and reception. When they toured the venue, the staff was so warm and welcoming. They are incredibly excited for their wedding this summer, and so am I! I wonder if their wedding colors will be black and gold.

See you in July!!!
