Abby + Jake | Engaged

An Overlook Park Engagement Session | Lancaster, Pennsylvania

Abby and Jake are such a fun couple! I love that they love life, marriage and especially each other! They are both so kind and genuine. We had an awesome engagement session…you can see their love for each other in their photos and in the answers Abby gave us.

How did you and Jake meet?

We met in a Biblical Studies course at Eastern University. We were in the same course and on the second day of class Jake’s seat got taken, so he had to sit in the seat next to me.

What were your first impressions of each other?

Abby: I thought Jake was so cute but I was really surprised I hadn’t seen him on campus before because Eastern is a very small university.

Jake: I thought Abby was the most beautiful girl in the world, and I knew there was something special about her.

Where was your first date?

We didn’t have much time for dates during the first part of our relationship because we were both busy with school. Our first dates consisted of Jake watching Abby’s field hockey games and hanging out together afterwards.

What do you love about each other?

Abby: I love Jake’s heart for service. Jake loves to serve and help out in his career as an armor officer but also in his everyday life. He can handle my sass and can make any situation fun.

Jake: I love Abby’s drive to be a better person and her desire to grow in her faith every day. Her heart to help others in nursing and her work ethic to be as great as a nurse as possible allow her to be a light to everyone around her.

How did he propose?

Jake proposed at the Grand Floridian in Disney. He arranged for a friend that works in Disney World to be stationed there to take some pictures for us. We went into the Magic Kingdom after and had a beautiful dinner at the Boathouse in Disney Springs. It was a fairytale day.

Why did you pick your wedding venue?

We picked Stoltzfus Homestead and Gardens because of many factors. The location was perfect because it’s in between both of our families. We love that the venue is very rustic, while also being elegant.

I’m so excited to document your memories at your wedding next year! I know it will be amazing!

Beautiful photos of a beautiful couple! Of course I could be a tad biased since I am Abby’s Grandma. See you at the wedding John Malloy Photography, it will be a joyous day for sure!
