I love it when I get to do the engagement photos for my soon-to-be married couples! It gives me a chance to get to know them before the big day, and helps them feel more comfortable in front of the camera. It was a pleasure to meet Brian and Meredith. They’re such a kind and fun couple, and I’m really looking forward to photographing their wedding next year! Here is a little that I learned about this amazing couple…
How did you and Brian meet?
We met on a dating website called Match.
What were your first impressions of each other?
Meredith: I finally found a TALL guy (LOL). On a more serious note, the first thing I noticed besides how tall he was, was his smile. I enjoyed how our conversation continued to flow without any awkwardness. It was nice meeting someone who grew up in the same town as me…he felt like home. Brian is the sweetest, most genuine guy I’ve ever dated. I’m so grateful that our first date went as well as it did because I got to fall in love with this incredible guy. I can’t wait to marry him!
Brian: My first impression of Meredith was how tall she was and how easy she was to talk to. And of course, how beautiful she was! Our first date was a walk with our dogs. During that time, I realized that we both had a ton in common. We both had dogs, grew up in the same town, and were big fans of the Jersey Shore.
Where was your first date?
We met at Struble Trail, located in Downingtown (both our hometowns). We took a long walk with our dogs and talked the entire time, like we had known each other for years. It was a hot and humid evening so we decided to get Rita’s after. It was my absolute favorite first date!
What do you love about each other?
Meredith: I love that from day one, I could always be myself. We laugh all the time, it’s my favorite! What I love most about Brian is how kind and caring he is. I can’t wait to spend forever with him!
Brian: I love how kind and loving Meredith is. She gets along with everyone and can meet new people and easily start a conversation with them. That was huge as I come from a big family. I’ve heard it said that a sign of a good person is how they treat their dog…well, I think Meredith might love her dog, Chance, just slightly more than me (LOL) so that told me how great she is.
How did he propose?
Every year we go to Longwood Gardens for Christmas. It’s our favorite place to see Christmas lights. Because of the pandemic, we weren’t sure we’d get tickets, but Brian asked me a week or two before Christmas if I wanted to go after Christmas dinner. On 12/25/20, Brian, his sister and I, walked around Longwood, looking at all the pretty lights and drinking hot cocoa. Brian asked if I wanted to get a photo together (he HATES getting pictures taken) and it crossed my mind in that moment…what if this is it?? And IT WAS!!! Brian asked me to marry him and it was the best moment of my life!
Why did you pick your wedding venue?
I had my eye on Stoltzfus Homestead & Gardens before Brian even proposed. I always wanted to get married in a barn and have a fun, laid back kind of wedding. Brian also said he wanted a venue that was relaxing for our guests. As soon as we saw the venue in person, we both knew it was both what we wanted. It was the first and last venue we visited!
Meredith and Brian, it was so great to meet you and get to know you better! Your session was great and I can’t wait to see you guys in the Spring!!!
