Summer weddings at Stoltzfus Homestead and Gardens are always a highlight. With so much beautiful scenery and outdoor activities, there’s something for everyone. Megan and Ty’s wedding was an incredible experience for everyone who attended, and I was honored to be a part of it.
I met this amazing couple at their engagement shoot. They brought their puppy, Leo, along and we had a great time. I knew from that day on, that they were a special couple, and was excited to photograph their wedding. Although Leo wasn’t at the wedding, Megan and Ty included him in the day in photos and a specialty drink in his honor.
The entire wedding weekend was a celebration for Megan and Ty, with special dinners, nights out on the town and Megan’s birthday leading up to the big day!
On the morning of her wedding day, Megan, her mom, bridesmaids, flower girls, and almost mother-in-law arrived early to Stoltzfus Homestead to begin getting ready. They had a wonderful time talking and preparing for the ceremony. Meanwhile, Ty, his dad, groomsmen, ring bearer, and almost father-in-law went to Central Market in Lancaster City (a favorite hot spot) to get breakfast, then arrived at Stoltzfus a little later.
After the ladies’ hair and makeup was done, my second shooter and I arrived. Megan and Ty knew the ceremony was beginning shortly and felt so many emotions…including feeling nervous, anxious, excited, and blessed…all at the same time! They had been preparing for months and the day was finally here! There was an emotional first look with Megan and her dad, which was extra special because Megan is the only girl in her family. I’m so glad I could capture the memories from those moments.
One of Megan and Ty’s favorite parts of a wedding is when the groom see’s his bride for the first time, so Ty wouldn’t see Megan until she was walking down the aisle. This added to the anticipation! After some photos of the bridal parties, it was time for the wedding!
As the ceremony began and music was played, both Ty and Megan were incredibly excited and extremely nervous at the same time. Ty’s facial expression when he first saw Megan was one of pure amazement. She was worth the wait! After reciting their vows and saying “I do” they couldn’t believe they were finally married…no longer two but one. They were both so thankful that their family and friends were all able to witness their love.
After cocktail hour, Megan and Ty had their first dance to the song, “Blessings” by Florida Georgia Line. They also had the traditional parent dances and toasts from their best friends (who happened to introduce them a few years ago). Delicious food and a lot of lively dancing followed. It was such a fun party! Megan and Ty say some of their favorite memories of the night are of everyone dancing and having a great time. Their amazing wedding celebration ended with a sparkler exit.
Megan and Ty say it was a day they’ll never forget and they will treasure their pictures for years to come. I’m so thankful that I was able to capture these memories for such a wonderful couple! Congratulations, Megan and Ty! May you have many years of happiness together!
