You may remember from the the engagement blog last year, that Michaela and Kyle met in a leadership class but didn’t really connect until they were both at a Philadelphia Eagles game. Kyle couldn’t believe how gorgeous, kind and confident Michaela was….add to that, she was a die-hard Philly fan, and he had found the perfect girl! Michaela thought Kyle was handsome right away and loved how we could walk into any room or situation and get to know people really well. It didn’t take long for them to become exclusive and on a beautiful day last year, Kyle asked Michaela to spend forever with him.
It was the moment he had been waiting for. He could sense her presence coming up behind him and could feel his heart beating out of his chest. He could hardly wait to turn around and see his bride-to-be. As he turned around, his breath was completely taken away. Meghan was absolutely stunning. All Tyler could think was, “Wow, how did in the world did I get so lucky?” As soon as they made eye contact, his nervousness went away and she was all he could see. The moments they shared were pure joy and happiness and felt like they were the only two people on earth. He was in awe of how incredible Meghan looked and was so thankful to have a few moments to focus completely on her. It was a moment Tyler will never forget.
“I vow to be your ears, and make sure you hear the world.”
These are Sean’s words spoken in his vows to Ashley during their wedding ceremony. Needless to say, there were hardly any dry eyes in the whole place. Ashley is deaf, but from the photos and her pure radiant joy, you would never even know it. One of the things that made Sean fall in love with her was how she didn’t let her deafness affect the way she viewed or lived her life. His heartfelt vows are just one small part of the incredible day.
I first met Brittany and Eric at their engagement session last year. They were so excited to be engaged and were totally in love! They had met through mutual friends at Tellus 360, a popular hangout in downtown Lancaster, Pa. Neither were looking for love at the time, but they quickly found out they had a lot in common and started dating. On a hiking trip at Black Moshannon State Park, Eric asked Brittany to spend the rest of her life with him.
It was just one month before they were to be married when James and Melissa contacted me about photographing their wedding. Despite my busy summer schedule, I happened to have their date free! I’m so glad I was available to capture this amazing couple’s special day! Besides their previous photographer canceling, their hotel also closed, and they had to shorten their guest list by over half of the original expected attendees. They had already changed their wedding date because of COVID, now they had to scramble to get everything re-planned. They were overwhelmed. The tears, discussions, frustrations, and fears, felt at times, unsurmountable. Melissa was starting her first year as a principal and could not imagine postponing her wedding for a whole year. Who knew if next year’s situation would be any different? They took a risk to move forward with their plan, and are so glad they did. With Ben Reeder Photography providing a live stream experience for their guests watching from home, James and Melissa felt like they could go on with their planned festivities. I’m so glad they did… it was an incredible day!
