Kala and Joe love visiting the Outer Banks together. They began vacationing there a few years ago, then got engaged there last year. So, what better place could they choose to get married? Every September, they return to enjoy the ocean, sand and peacefulness the beach offers. Now they can spend all of their anniversaries in the same place they promised each other forever. They even hope to retire there some day!
It was their junior year at Penn State University, and a group of friends was meeting at Panera for a reprieve from final exams. Andrew and Shaniece met that week and hit it off right away. Andrew thought she was beautiful and kind. He loved that she was so easy to talk to. Shaniece was wearing a shirt with bees printed on it, and since he finds honeybees fascinating, he was excited to talk to her about it. Shaniece was in a relationship at the time, but still noticed that Andrew was attractive and really funny. He was so outgoing and talking to him was effortless. It would be a year before they spoke again.
I first met Brittany and Eric at their engagement session last year. They were so excited to be engaged and were totally in love! They had met through mutual friends at Tellus 360, a popular hangout in downtown Lancaster, Pa. Neither were looking for love at the time, but they quickly found out they had a lot in common and started dating. On a hiking trip at Black Moshannon State Park, Eric asked Brittany to spend the rest of her life with him.
It was just one month before they were to be married when James and Melissa contacted me about photographing their wedding. Despite my busy summer schedule, I happened to have their date free! I’m so glad I was available to capture this amazing couple’s special day! Besides their previous photographer canceling, their hotel also closed, and they had to shorten their guest list by over half of the original expected attendees. They had already changed their wedding date because of COVID, now they had to scramble to get everything re-planned. They were overwhelmed. The tears, discussions, frustrations, and fears, felt at times, unsurmountable. Melissa was starting her first year as a principal and could not imagine postponing her wedding for a whole year. Who knew if next year’s situation would be any different? They took a risk to move forward with their plan, and are so glad they did. With Ben Reeder Photography providing a live stream experience for their guests watching from home, James and Melissa felt like they could go on with their planned festivities. I’m so glad they did… it was an incredible day!
Every girl dreams of two things with her father on her wedding day: when he walks her down the aisle, and when they have their father/daughter dance. Since she was a little girl, Amy and her dad had talked about it many times, but two years before her wedding, many thought that dream wouldn’t come […]
Emily and Bill were married on June 14th with a ceremony and reception at Riverdale Manor in Lancaster, PA. It was such an honor to be their wedding photographer at this summer wedding. Emily and Bill were so sweet, caring and loving—both toward each other and toward their guests. It was a joy to photograph […]
On a rainy day last July, Erin and Gabriel were married with a ceremony and reception at Stoltzfus Homestead and Gardens in Intercourse, PA. Erin and Gabriel are one of the sweetest couples I have had the pleasure of photographing. They were so full of love, both for each other and for their guests. Being […]
